Interested in a new way to increase your dog’s communication and commitment to source? Wanting a tool to reduce fringing and false alerts? Join us for some fresh ideas on how our reinforcement shapes behavior at the hide. Similar to a nose freeze but not quite the same, this playful training tool has a lot to offer!

In this webinar, we will explore ways to increase a dog’s excitement about getting to source, staying at source, and communicating about source. We will examine how our reinforcement habits are either assisting or hindering our dog’s ability to target a sourced hide. Done properly, the bulk of this work will result in a behavior that looks similar to a nose freeze alert but is just a little bit different. The training is playful and empowering to the dog. By encouraging sustained behavior at source, this method opens the door for a variety of proofing options that are both fun and effective for increasing reliability.

If any of this sounds interesting or intriguing, we hope you’ll consider joining us!

This webinar is appropriate for all levels of teams from the very beginners to seasoned competitors. It is especially helpful for instructors who are interested in adding another trouble-shooting tool to the tool box.

What Our Clients Are Saying

I really enjoyed this and love how enthusiastic Holly is when she talks about Scentwork. My biggest take away (always when I watch a webinar from her) is that she highlights how much dog training is actually required to play the game. Yes, we want the dog to be in charge but we also need criteria and hold up to them to give clarity what earns the cookie. So many ideas to pass on to my students, too!

Anke W. Nose Poke Alert Webinar

This gave me another practical tool to help with issues we’ve been having with fringing recently and pairs well with training I’ve been getting in person. Holly is always so great in how she explains things and I love that she acknowledges that her way may not be best for everyone (but also usually gives some tips for other ways the concept might work).

I found the cross body feeding very helpful. I used to feed towards my body which now I see caused her to step away and look back. I started to develop the nose poke by waiting til she went back to it. But cross body feeding will help tremendously. She is now retired but I'm thinking about my next dog. thank you it is a brilliant webinar

Holly is a thoughtful and thorough teacher and her kindness efficiency and expertise came through clearly, specially in her videos working with her own dogs. i also laughed out loud at some of her proofing antics and laughter in this sport is so refreshing, don't you agree? i enjoyed every minute of this webinar. Thank you

Holly's clear explanations. The way she is not afraid to share the messy parts of her training. The way she always states that a particular method might not be for everyone. The way she breaks down complex issues. And seeing little Kizi being fascinatingly good at Nose Work at such a baby-age! And how Zuzi was being very good when it was Kizi's turn to play the bowl-game.... :)

Hajnalka H. Nose Poke Alert Webinar

I really liked how she broke everything down and had a video example of each thing she was trying to teach.  Although both of my current dogs are past the beginner stage, I am planning on trying most of the exercises Holly discussed so I have more reliable alerts.

Judith F. Nose Poke Alert Webinar

All the ideas presented as "games" for my dogs. So fun. I thought it was super, with so much information.  I have a lot to work on now and can review this webinar while my new knee heals. Holly is a great coach. Thank you both.

Barb G. Nose Poke Alert Webinar

I thought it was wonderful. Great new ideas and most timely for a youngster just starting out whose chosen alerts are all a bit too interactive. Can’t wait to get started on this.

MaryAnn E. Nose Poke Alert Webinar

This webinar is full of useful information, from the nose poke alert, training it and proofing in general. I got much more out of this than was advertised. Videos were very helpful. Another good one from Holly."
