Better still, we will outline how you may tackle these container searches with primary, paired odor and odor hides. Therefore, we intend for this course to be helpful for everyone, regardless of their experience level.

Course Outline

  • Making Containers Fun for Dog and Handler
  • Corners and Perimeters
  • Planes...Not in the Sky!
  • Close Proximity and Converging Odor
  • Blank and Semi-Blind Searches

What You Will Need

  • your dog
  • collar (flat or martingale)
  • harness (back-clip) (optional)
  • leash (6'-8')
  • long line (10'-15')
  • treats (high-value and smelly)
  • crate or area your dog can wait while you set-up your searches
  • variety of containers to play with (boxes, sandcastle buckets, tupperware, totes, etc.)
  • novel target odors (Birch, Anise, Clove)
  • variety of odor vessels (metal tins, straws, tubes, etc.)
  • earthquake putty or GlueDots
