Scent sports are expanding to all kinds of targets and all sorts of search areas. Many of them may require your dog to navigate tight or complicated spaces, which may not be physically or mentally “comfortable” for them. This webinar works on building tolerance and comfort in tight or confined spaces.

Working initially apart from odor, we will navigate mazes, tunnels, channels, and other tight spaces to build drive for these challenges. Building a reward history in difficult environments will build confidence as dogs progress.

With increased interest and drive for these puzzles, we will start to add odor. The reward history built before adding odor will help the dogs more confidently explore spaces previously too pressured for them to attempt. The goal is for our dogs to feel safe enough to work odor as close to source as possible!
