There's more to competing in Scent Work than just the odor. Whereas odor puzzles and teamwork are hugely important, there is so much to succeeding in Scent Work. We must learn to prepare for all these considerations.
Most people think about making sure their dogs are obedient to odor and doing level-appropriate odor puzzles before they go to a competition but that's not all you need. Have you considered what they might encounter at the trial site? What about in the search area itself? What about public areas outside the search area? How about traveling to the site? How are you going to deal with any issues that crop up if something is stressful, distracting, or difficult? What strategies and tools will you use? What about actual environment? Is your dog acclimatized to the temperature, humidity, and so forth? How about the amount of searching they will be doing? Have you prepared? All these things and more will be covered in this webinar!
