Should You Re-Reward a Found Hide?

You're tackling a Scent Work search with your dog. They have found a hide or two within the space and suddenly they return to one of those found hides...now what to do you do?! Do you re-reward your dog or not?

In this short video, we discuss a variety of options available to us. These are all dependent on who our dog is, where they are in their sniffing journey, what they look like as they are searching and so on.

It is typically best to avoid falling into the "we always do x" or "we never do y" pitfall if at all possible. There are countless variables at play when we are training and trialing in Scent Work. "It depends" may dictate that we instead implement a unique approach in a given scenario.
