COURSE DETAILS
Your dog has completed the Introduction to Scent Work and Exteriors and Vehicles with Primary courses. They are now ready to tackle some more advanced concepts and field trip searches!
In this 6-week online course, we will further build upon your dog's prowess of hunting by introducing more advanced exterior hide concept and field trip searches, all while having them hunt for primary. Our focus will be on having your dog be a confident, determined and tenacious hunter, who will go into any space to find their hides. This will be accomplished through a series of mindful and thoughtful exercises all designed to keep the game fun and engaging.
Simultaneously, we will hone your skills as both a handler and trainer, ensuring you are mindfully and thoughtfully designing your practice sessions and improving your handling skills so you may be the best teammate possible for your dog.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
your dog
flat or martingale collar
back-clip harness (optional)
6'-8' leash
10'-15' long line
LOTS of high-value and smelly treats
crate or area you can stage your dog in while setting up your searches
minimum of 10 boxes of various sizes (good excuse to shop at Amazon!)
empty odor vessels (metal tins, straws, tubes, etc.)
earthquake putty or GlueDots
