Many Scent Work handlers who are interested in competing wish to do so in a variety of competition venues. However, each venue may use a specific type of odor preparation which means hides used in trial may have varying types of odor concentration. If a dog has only been exposed to Odor Concentration A but not Odor Concentration B, they may struggle at trials where Odor Concentration B is used.
In this 4-week course, we will outline ways to introduce our dogs to the concept of hunting for Birch, Anise or Clove using varying odor preparation techniques and odor concentrations. The focus will be on working in the four traditional search elements: Interior, Exterior, Vehicle and Container and the course will conclude with a set-up teams may use as a mock trial of sorts.
Ensure your dog understands how to work out odor puzzles regardless of odor concentration with this short, fun course!
