At some point when you are tackling a search with blind hides, you will call a false alert. When trialing, this can mean the difference between earning a qualifying score or not. Thus, false alerts carry a ton of negative associations with Scent Work handlers.
What causes handlers to call false alerts in the first place? What was their dog doing that made them call "Alert" in that given moment? Was there some sort of communication breakdown between the dog and handler? What happened and how we can prevent it from happening again in the future?! We will answer these questions, and more, in this webinar.
The second part of this 4-part webinar series, we will delve into the common causes for false alerts seen in Interior searches and what can be done in training to rectify this. Suggestions offered will apply to BOTH ends of the leash.
